COLIN NEWMAN has been the principal songwriter, vocalist and guitar player for the band WIRE for almost 50 years.

In 1980 he released a solo LP entitled “From A-Z.

One of the many excellent tracks on this release has haunted me since I first heard it is called “Alone.”

However, at the same time, Newman released a 3 track single – “B”. This contained an instrumental of the original song called “Alone On Piano.”

Can’t tell you many times I have listened to this quiet gem. Here goes.
