It is both a blessing and a curse – my music that is.
My collection of music is such that I am constantly reminded of bands, records, songs and lyrics in my collection in my every day life.
Look again at the cover photo, shown again below.
Notice how the garden is designed in the shape of the continents…
To that end I read an incredible tale in the Times of London a short while ago. The genesis of this project is quickly explained as follows:
An incredible tale and a place I will plan to visit.
Of course, the story reminded me of several musical touchstones. I first thought of the song “Hanging Garden” by THE CURE 🇬🇧 from their 1982 LP “ Pornography.” Next up was “Hong Kong Garden” (1978) by another band CURE frontman Robert Smith played in – SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES 🇬🇧.
In the end I settled on an LP title. That would be “Epic Garden Music” (1982) by SAD LOVERS & GIANTS 🇬🇧.
That title fully captures the epic nature of this remarkable story.
The cover of the album shows a garden- fitting.
My favourite track is “Imagination”. Ironically, that fits as well. Enjoy on this 1st day of November.
