I was delighted recently to obtain the 3 LPs from an excellent outfit from Athens, GA. No Virginia, not the Athens band you are thinking of, but that band figures somewhat in this little post.

This band is called NOW IT’S OVERHEAD 🇺🇸. It is primarily the project of Andy LeMaster, with assistance from other musicians, primarily from AZURE RAY 🇺🇸.

They were the first band not from Nebraska signed by the prestigious Saddle Creek Records label.

They released 3 acclaimed LPs between 2001 to 2006.

These LPs have been remastered and released on vinyl for the first time! Wash was limited to 500 copies and I managed to snag all 3!

Their second LP has been on my turntable regularly since. It is titled “Fall Back Open.”

It features back up vocals by Michael Stipe from that other Athens band on the track “Antidote.” But it the previous track on the record that is today’s song,

Stipe says it is one of the 20 best songs ever recorded!

Here is “Reverse” by NOW IT’S OVERHEAD.
