Song For A Monday

[Ed. Note- the crack staff @ gwrex365 return from a Sunday off. Not that an excuse is needed but it is not everyday that your grandson turns 4.]

No, today you are not getting the obvious Monday song.

Although we are only 3 weeks from the glorious return of PETER HOOK & THE LIGHT 🇬🇧 to North America to do round 2 of the “Get Ready” Tour, the legendary “Blue Monday” by his band NEW ORDER 🇬🇧 is too obvious a choice.

I am also not going to wear out my welcome with what (to me) is the dreadful outfit The Boomtown Rats 🇬🇧 and “I Don’t Like Mondays” or “Manic Monday” by the Bangles 🇺🇸. Something by Mancunians HAPPY MONDAYS 🇬🇧 would work but they have been featured when is was in Manchester in June.

I was at Dr. Disc on the weekend and I noticed someone has turned in their collection of CDs by a vastly underrated Irish outfit called A HOUSE 🇮🇪.

I double-checked to see if my personal discography was complete. It is.

I then went into my collection and began listening to some of their choice stuff.

[Ed. Note- rex has featured their tracks “Endless Art” and “More Endless Art” in the past.]

Today’s song comes from one of my fave A HOUSE releases. Here is “Call Me Blue” from their 1988 debut entitled “On Our Big Fat Merry-Go-Round.”
