MEMORIALS 🇬🇧 are comprised of life partners.

They are MATT SIMMS known for his work since 2010 as a member of my second favourite outfit WIRE 🇬🇧 (replacing BRUCE GILBERT who retired) and partner/ spouse VERITY SUSMAN from the little known, but much beloved, ELECTRELANE 🇬🇧.

They have released two outstsnding LPs that I was able to obtain on my recent trip to Manchester.

Their 2024 debut was entitled “Waterslide”

It was followed this year with this gem:

The song I have selected today is “Cut Glass Hammer” from the newest LP.

The song was inspired by a photograph by YOKO ONO from 1967 that was recently displayed in a retrospective at the TATE MODERN in London.

I was drawn to the video. The track reminds me of what WIRE + STEREOLAB 🇬🇧 would sound like if they were to record together.

I can’t stop listening to it…
