Best Cover Version

I thought this choice would be easy- until Sunday. I have been enthralled most of the year with an LP by German 🇩🇪 outfit SPACE KELLY entitled “Come To My World- A Tribute to Sarah Records”

As you know I too am obsessed with the now legendary indie label. I loved every one of the 11 cover versions on this vinyl. They generally stay close to the original sound.

My favourite though is ‘Killjoy’ which was originally recorded by BRIGHTER on their 1992 EP entitled “Disney” (SARAH 69).

I had this selected until @wallytbm sent me a link to a cover of the SLOWDIVE song ‘Machine Gun’ from their 1993 LP “Souvlaki” (Creation Records).

It was recorded by JOHN GIRGUS. He was co- founder with BETH ARZY of the SARAH band ABERDEEN.
