Here is a video of KURT COBAIN, frontman of NIRVANA 🇺🇸 being thankful for the music of YOUNG MARBLE GIANTS 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿.

This threesome comprised of brothers PHILIP and STUART MOXHAM with vocalist ALLISON STATTON recorded just 1 LP and 2 EPs.

Minimalist doesn’t describe their drum- free sound.

I have the original LP acquired on release in 1980.

As well, I have the reissued 2x version from 2022.

It almost seems absurd to hear COBAIN lp waxing about how this LP influenced him.

Here is a quick comparison playing NIRVANA’S most well-known song “Smells Like Tern Spirit”, then acoustically unplugged in New York and then listen to “N.I.T.A.” from “Colossal Youth.” That may give you a clue about the underlying sound that attracted Cobain.

Talk about your juxtaposition…
