The cover photo is of trains referenced in the song selected from our LP of the week.

I was able to land a limited colour version of the newest LP by legendary Scots – TEENAGE FANCLUB 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 whilst in Toronto this week.

This outfit has been around in different configurations since forming in Glasgow around 1989. Fanclub members have also been involved with a number of rex stalwarts such as BMX BANDITS, TH’ FAITH HEALERS and TELSTAR PONIES (All 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿).

Their earliest releases were on the defining label of the early 90’s – Creation Records founded by ALAN McGEE.

Some say their ‘91 LP “Bandwagonesque” is better than top lps released at that time – like “Screamadelica” by PRIMAL SCREAM 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 , “Loveless” by MY BLOODY VALENTINE 🇬🇧 or NIRVANA’S 🇺🇸 “Nevermind”.

Anyway, I could go on forever about the incredible stable of bands on Creation Records, but that is for another post.

The newest LP is their 15th. It is titled “Do Not Dare To Dream.”

The LP follows the guitar driven, melodic and melancholic uindie pop path that is their trademark.

Here is the song “Be With You Tonight” to ease you into the weekend.
