Today marks a quarter century since the unforgivable terrorist attack in the USA.
Pictured on the cover of today’s post is Michael Collarone, aka “Mickey Flowers.” He is a New York City florist. Since 2013 he has overseen a project of massive significance. Daily, Mickey Flowers donates a white rose and assists in the placement on the engraved names of each of the nearly 3,000 souls on their birthday. Incredible and heartwarming.
For today’s song, I have selected a Georgia based synth duo that had a name that would become famous for all the wrong reasons.
Danny Geller and Amy Dykes named their project in 1999 (after living in NYC) as I AM THE WORLD TRADE CENTER 🇺🇸.
On July 17, 2001 they released their debut LP entitled “Out Of The Loop” on the label that Geller founded.
“Out Of The Loop” (Kindercore Records- 2001)
Eerily, a track on the LP is “September.”
Look where it is on the track listing…
Just two months later the song would become notorious for all the wrong reasons.
I am sure this sparked all kinds of tinfoil conspiracies…
Here it is.
