Nothing like a little tonic from some old friends…

I have been a bit remiss these past couple of weeks since returning from Japan. Busy with work and travelling even more, (Toronto 3x, Ottawa, Atlanta and now Sarnia) my daily posts have been a bit irregular.

However, that all changed with a bit of wonderful news!

Yesterday I received a flurry of emails from various record stores in the UK announcing a new release on September 4 by a Top 5 personsal fave- ARAB STRAP 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿!!!

This was totally unexpected.

AIDAN MOFFAT and MALCOLM MIDDLETON are ARAB STRAP.

I won’t go on waxing about this outfit and their spoken word, intriguing stylings that capture the human condition (at least the human condition from a Caledonian perspective) better than anyone.

After a raft of LPs released from 96-06 they amicably parted company and then each launched successful solo careers. They reformed a few years ago and this new release “Half Told Tales” is the third LP of their second round- now 30 years out from their debut.

Fortunately they released the opening track today. I can state unequivocally it is my fave new song of 2026. Here it is.
