Magical Live Vinyl Release

You won’t be surprised by this decision if you know my taste. Scottish 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 THE JESUS & MARY CHAIN have been at the top of my list for almost 40 years. They may have been inactive from 1998 to but my interest and passion for their music the never abated.

Since their return I have seen them live on a number of occasions. This includes an astonishing gig in Toronto where my daughter Meghan recognized the actress JESSICA PARE (from MADMEN) immediately. She had come on stage to sing ‘Just Like Honey’ with JIM REID. It was a sublime moment.

In addition to releasing their 7th brilliant proper studio album in 2017 entitled “Damage and Joy” the band have not sat on their laurels.

They have another studio LP due in early 2024!

This year they released an amazing artifact- a live LP entitled “Sunset 666” on the FUZZ CLUB label.

Recorded over two shows from the Hollywood Paladium on December 11 [Ed. Note- 5 years ago today] and 15th.

I have selected the song ‘Sometimes Only’ with guest vocalist ISOBEL CAMPBELL, an original member of another Scottish band- BELLE & SEBASTIAN. Unfortunately I couldn’t locate a YouTube video of her performing there. Instead a picked another video of the song played live live with ISOBEL CAMPBELL so you can hear and see her.

A magic moment for sure.
