As you know, a few months ago I started a series on gwilliamrexunderground365 entitled “rex Festive 15.”
The title is an homage to the iconic British DJ JOHN PEEL. Each year he published his “Festive 50” songs in December.
rex Festive 15 is a listing of newish bands that have my serious attention. So far we have featured 7 artists.
Last night I had the pleasure of seeing one of the Festive 15 play live in Detroit! BLACK COUNTRY, NEW ROAD are currently on a North American tour.

An exhilarating live performance ensued. It was essentially a rendition of their audacious 3rd LP entitled “Live at Bush Hall”
Just days before the release of their 2nd LP “Ants From Up There” in 2022, vocalist Isaac Wood suddenly left the band

The remaining members immediately regrouped, and undaunted, forged ahead.
They quickly wrote an entire LP worth of new songs and then performed them as a live show and released it as an album!

The music of this band is brilliant, inventive and hard to characterize. I will let the listener draw your own conclusion. I previously featured them at Song 354 and Song 556 was when they became part of the Festive 15.
From “Live”, here is ‘Dancers’
