Record Store Stories (#1)

[Ed. Note. Today we start a series on the various record stores that have played a large part in the compilation of rex’s collection. Each will be referenced in a random order.]

ROUGH TRADE RECORD STORE

LOCATIONS: London (3) Bristol, Nottingham

New York

I cannot understate how important stores like ROUGH TRADE have been to my appreciation of indie music. More than providing a supply of the records, CDs and cassettes I have acquired, staff at stores like Rough Trade have helped curate my collection and introduce me to many new and now favourite artists.

The list of bands I first learned about from staff at Rough Trade is long and memorable.

One such outfit is FACTORY FLOOR. Main actors in this London 🇬🇧 based industrial outfit have been NIK COLK VOUD and GABE GURNSEY (pictured below.)

They have become mainstays in my collection.
