“If there is such a thing as reincarnation and a person can come back as an inanimate object, I am certain I will come back as a lottery ticket.” (rex, March 26, 2026)
It is no such thing as a coincidence that I am again yet again talking about a another crazy coincidence.
Here is the latest.

Karen and Gabriel dine occasionally at Yamoto in the Yorkville area of Toronto. It is a Japanese restaurant that has a significant portion of the area dedicated to Tappanyaki style cooking.

In case you aren’t familiar, the food is cooked by trained chefs who slice and cook proteins and veggies on the stainless cooking surface with incredible flair and patrons eat at the edge of the table while being served directly by the “Hibachi” chefs.
At the end of August I took DJ Drew and Hayden to TO to see some baseball. We went with Courts and her friend Marisa to Yamoto on the 29th. We have been there a few times over the years.
Teppanayaki seating is communal style. In addition to the 5 in my crew, our table mates were Karen and Gabriel, seated beside me.
They were both very friendly. Karen inquired about our plans/ family etc. Eventually, after chatting about family, baseball and a number of persons in Toronto we both know, the topic turned to music. Karen was intrigued by my project and asked if she could “join” the Group. She was happily added.
I have been in Toronto at least once a month since then but had not returned to Yamoto until last Thursday.
I had to be in Toronto for a meeting last Friday and Courtney selected and arranged dinner at Yamoto. I had not been back since that August 28 evening.
We sat down at 8. We were at a teppanayki table on the opposite side of the room. The restaurant was jumping. I said to Courts, pointing- is that the table we sat at last time. She responded, “yes it is and there are the same people in the same seats as last time!”
You can’t make this up.
I went over and they were as shocked as we were. In fairness they go there somewhat regularly, but still. I told them about this happening to me at HUNAN in the Chelsea area in London a year apart, back in 2015/ 2026 and we just laughed.
I thought for today’s song I would go with an outfit in my collection that I haven’t posted about yet.
The KNIFE 🇸🇪 were a brother and sister duo named Karin and Olof Dreijer from Gothenburg, Sweden.

They made eclectic, electronic music from 1999 to 2014. One of their seminal records is from 2003 entitled “Deep Cuts.”

That seems to fit the knife play restaurant where we met and re-met Karen and Gabriel.
Until we meet again friends…
