I should have known better. It is not the first time and I can’t say it will be the last.

A week ago Sunday I sent out a monster post that I had worked on for a couple of weeks. Here was the title:

Around The World In 80 Songs Or So (The Sunday Read and Listen)

In this post I described how many group members were travelling great distances this year and I was planning one as well.

It inspired an 85 indie song playlist based on certain criteria necessary to be included on the list.

One of them was worded as follows:

The location would have to be a place I would “consider”visiting on my own.

Truth be told, that was not entirely true.

Full disclosure- I sort of/slightly fudged two of the destinations.

I used the word “consider” and put it in quotations but there were bands from two destinations that I included even though I never have and never would consider choosing as a vacation destination. I did that because there was an artist in each of those locations that I wanted on the playlist.

The bands that got me to write “consider” were LUCID EXPRESS 🇭🇰 from Hong Kong and LORELLE MEETS THE OBSOLETE 🇲🇽 from Mexico.

By saying it that way, I was distinguishing those two locations from places I am eager to travel to but in reality I will never.

I wish I had gone to Hong Kong before the UK 🇬🇧 transferred governance back to China 🇨🇳 in 1997. But I didn’t.

I got jolted twice Sunday because of this fudging.

First thing this morning I got notice that LUCID EXPRESS had released their 3rd LP,

But then the real jolt came when I heard about the street war that broke out in Porto Vallarta!

We have friends in the Group who were just there. Glad you are home Ryan and Steven. And friends stuck there (Gerry and Rob.)

This is one of the reasons I never have gone, and never will, go, to Mexico.
