Great Punk/ Lame Name (What’s In A Name Series #16)

I have a thing about lousy band names. One of my let peeves are bands that use single common words as their name. HEALTH 🇬🇧 is one such name. It takes work to find relevant sites online for a band with a name like this.

The “coy” move of adding or altering a letter leaves me cold as well. CHVRCHES 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 are an outfit that win a prize in this category. That seems as creative as a chef adding pineapple rings to a roast ham.

A band fairly new to me (translation- I haven’t purchased anything by them yet, but will) is the English outfit LIFE 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 from Hull.

They are 3 LPs in and I am impressed with their punk energy, that they own their own record label, Afghan Moon and their mostly spoken word punk vocals by frontman MEZ GREEN. That is, I like everything but the lame name.
