Does it get any better than this?

None of you that know me well would have any difficulty remembering who is my favourite artist. That would be JOY DIVISION 🇬🇧 who are now personified by the incredible work of PETER HOOK & THE LIGHT 🇬🇧.

From time to time over these past 46 plus years, various artists have held the crown as my “current favourite artist.” To name but a few, that list includes GANG OF FOUR 🇬🇧/THE SOUND 🇬🇧/ ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN 🇬🇧/SISTERS OF MERCY 🇬🇧/SPIRITUALIZED 🇬🇧/BFG 🇬🇧/JOY FORMIDABLE 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿/SUGAR 🇺🇸/ TV ON THE RADIO 🇺🇸 and SECRET SHINE 🇬🇧.

The current belt holder is a trio from South Devon, called PALE BLUE EYES 🇬🇧.

They have released three brilliant LPs since 2022-

PALE BLUE EYES “Souvenirs” (Full Time Hobby – 2022)

PALE BLUE EYES “This House” (Full Time Hobby – 2023)

PALE BLUE EYES “New Place” (Broadcast Recordings – 2025)

“New Place” was my LP of the year for 2025!

Now, not even a month after I announced that selection on this site, this was released!

PALE BLUE EYES “PBE Archive Vol. 1” (Broadcast Recordings- 2026)

The band describe this record as leftover songs, demos and concepts from the first 3 LPs. The band plans to move in a different direction for LP #4 and wanted to get these bits and bobs out before they pivot.
