While this site is about the music, I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you about my two favourite movies of 2025. [Ed. Note- There is a musical connection to both.]
One is a drama and the other is a documentary. Today we will focus on the doc.
They say there is a phobia for everything- including fear of phobias. That is called “photophobia”)
But have you ever heard of “chorophobia”?
Yeah, me neither.
It started when I received a message from friend, Group member and beloved art teacher SANJA.
She was asking me a favour, but it turned out she was doing a me the favour.
She advised that her high school pal, MICHAEL, had made a documentary. It was going to be shown in week or so at the 2025 Windsor International Film Featival.
SANJA asked if I would consider attending this to show support her friend. (My translation – she did not want to have her pal embarrassed by a puny turnout.)
That alone was enough for me to commit.
As well, the title of the documentary was intriguing – “Fear Of Dancing.”
The documentary was made by a Wïndsor native, and now a Toronto- based, highly respected and noted documentary film- maker. His name is MICHAEL ALLCOCK 🇨🇦.
The documentary addresses a personal issue for MICHAEL- namely Chorophobia– a fear of dancing.
I don’t want to overhype the magnificence of this movie but I don’t think I can. It is that good. I describe it as a documentary presented in an erudite by highly entertaining style. Trust me on this.
You can watch the movie simply by registering for free at gem.cbc.ca. I recommend you do so forthwith and share this lead with friends. They will appreciate you for doing that.

Above is filmmaker MICHAEL ALLCOCK addressing the audience with WIF Executive Director (and Group member) VINCENT GEORGIE post- screening.
Here he is with SANJA and her friend RENEE soaking up well- deserved bravos and admiration from all in attendance.

Now for a song that works with this great movie.
Here is the 7 piece indie band called LOS CAMPESINOS from Cardiff, Wales 🏴. The track is the delightful “You, Me, Dancing” from their 2008 debut LP “Hold On Now Youngster…”
