Here is a quick song from my collection to note this time of year.
BLOW- UP 🇬🇧 were a short-lived English outfit from Brighton that started in 1986.
[Ed. Note- It is incredible how many outfits in the rex collection are from Brighton.]
They were originally on the esteemed CREATION RECORDS label. Many in the British music industry thought they were going places, including influential BBC legend JOHN PEEL.
Adding to the promise was that their lead singer, Nick Roughley, had previously been in future Sarah Records label band 14 ICED BEARS.

Alas, despite the set-up, BLOW-UP had done just that by 1991 as the BRITPOP era was taking hold.
So what does their discography show? Two LPs and a handful of singles on Creation and then Cherry Red.
Anyhow, why this band for today’s post you ask? Because of this record in my collection is the answer:

“Forever Holiday”
12” b/w “Good For Nothing” and “Take Me As I Was”
So here you go. I thought the title sums up the week. Give it a listen, complete with video filmed on what looks like the Brighton waterfront. Enjoy your forever holiday!
