This past Friday was my last scheduled sitting day of this calendar year. Given the combination of my years on the bench and age, I am now required to sit less frequently.

My dear friends at the courthouse surprised me Friday with a cake to recognize this transition. I am still a bit shook up at the gesture. To not only love what you do, but to be able to consider all of the persons I work with as friends is both remarkable and fortunate.

To acknowledge this friendship I have selected a song for today that is a favourite road trip song for me and one I am adding to OPUS70.1.

This is my favourite song by legendary punk band THE BUZZCOCKS 🇬🇧.You will get hearing more about them next year as they celebrate 50 years, albeit without frontman PETE SHELLEY who passed away in 2018 at the age of 63.

Here is OPUS70.1.6. “I Believe” is my favourite BUZZCOCKS track. It’s a great driving song, as I will experience today, weather permitting.

Note that the lyrics of this gem are the complete antithesis of today’s story.
