I was recently thrilled to acquire the 20th anniversary re-release of the debut LP by British indie gems MAXÏMO PARK.

They are from Newcastle Upon Tyne, a town in the very North of England and much closer to Glasgow than London.

The LP is entitled “A Certain Trigger”.

I first obtained this LP in 2005 on cd.

I have always loved this debut and their subsequent releases, including those by vocalist PAUL SMITH.

This debut LP was nominated for the MERCURY PRIZE that year, losing out to ANTONY & THE JOHNSONS LP “I Am A Bird Now”.
