One of the more enduring and endearing indie acts for over 30 years now (since 1989 to be specific) has been NOTWIST 🇩🇪. (From Waldheim, Upper Bavaria if you want to search the map.)

The core of this outfit has been the brothers MARKUS and MICHA ARCHER. I was thrilled to learn they just released their 11th studio LP entitled “Magnificent Fall” on November 14, 2025. [Ed. Note- rex will provide a review once he obtains the record.]

These two prolific performers have not only recorded as NOTWIST but in various other outfits I have in my collection such as 13 & GOD, LALI PUMA and MS. JOHN SODA.

One of the songs that has stuck with me since the release of their 6th LP, “Neon Golden” (2002, City Slang/ Virgin) is “Pick Up The Phone.”
