Today’s post is made in honour of my dear friend and co-worker Eileen. She is retiring today after many years. She has been the consummate public servant.

Eileen has worked with passion, honour, distinction, and with buckets of dedication in service to our court and the broader community here in the Southwest Region. Bravo dear friend. Bravo.
For an appropriate song to signify this significant milestone event, I have (deftly, I think) avoided the obvious but odious tune by DEXYS MIDNIGHT RUNNERS, even though EILEEN would know the song. (You are welcome.)
Rather, I have gone with a British outfit that I love (and will be seeing live for the first time soon!) This band with the perfect name for today’s post.
PUBLIC SERVICE BRIADCASTING 🇬🇧 are a unique indie outfit. They mold their music around historical events and weave snippets of broadcasts from the BBC into their songs. They have released records relating to Britain’s WWII efforts, the Space Race, the pilot Amelia Earhart, and the British coal mining industry, as a few examples.
For today’s track I have selected their song “Everest” from the PSB 2013 debut LP “Inform, Educate and Entertain.” Eileen has reached the pinnacle of “Everest” in her career at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and I wish her nothing but the best going forward. Thank you for everything Eileen. All the best for you and your family in the years ahead.
May the essence of the work you have performed here in service of this court be broadcasted publicly today.
