A NIGHT WITH THE BRITISH ROYALTY

No, we were not in Wïndsor on the date of September 17, 2025. Rather, just a few of us were over at the Masonic Temple from (the other) Windsor to see British Royalty- pop royalty that is.

We were granted an audience for over 2 hours with one of the finest pop bands ever- the incomparable PULP.

This Sheffield 🇬🇧 outfit returned after a 24 year absence to release a dandy new LP – “More”

You may remember my chance encounter with PULP singer and legend, JARVIS COCKER back in July.

In case that hasn’t lingered in your mind like it has mine, let me remind you…

Anyway, a suggestion from Jarvis’ wife Kim of a backstage visit in Detroit didn’t materialize but it mattered not.

9 totally synced musicians put on a throughly engaging set. 20 plus songs including “Sorted For E’s and Wizz” (to start), “Disco 2000”, newest single “Spike Island”, “This Is Hardcore” and a monster rendition of “Common People”.

Jarvis engaged with the crowd all evening. He introduced “Common People” by fairly acknowledging that the song changed the trajectory of the band forever.

Anyway, I could go on but I have been to Sarnia, now Toronto with a pit stop for an appearance in St. Thomas whilst on the way home this aft so I want to get to the song.

One of my favourite points in the evening was the rendition of “Sunrise” from their 2001 LP “We Love Life”.

I have nicked a video from their gig in Brooklyn 10 days earlier because the quality of the video far exceeds mine.

Here goes the ride…
