From 100 to 5000 in 24 hours! More great music in a different venue.

On Sunday I sketched out the excitement that LOU BARLOW generated for 100 of us lucky punters at METEOR in Windsor last Wed.

The very next night group member @iammiozio and I were treated again to another superb show- but in a vastly different venue.

We were among the nearly 5,000 fanatics who saw NYC legends LCD SOUNDSYSTEM 🇺🇸 perform at the Masonic Temple in Detroit.

24 Hours and a world of difference in crowd size!

It was my second time seeing these guys! I was at The Fillmore during LCD (Mach I) back in 2010 when they co-headlined with HOT CHIP 🇬🇧.

This predated the “Long Goodbye Tour” in 2014 which was touted as the band’s finale and culminated with sold out shows at Madison Square Garden.

It turns out that was not the case as LCD returned in 2017 with the LP “American Dream.”

[Ed. Note- word is that LCD honcho JAMES MURPHY mused about how could they ever sell out MSG and was told “announce you are ending the band!”

It worked and LCD is now among the most popular of the bands in the rex orbit.]

MURPHY’S DFA Label.

The band are touring only on the strength of their discography and a couple of recent singles. Impressive. Their following is both loyal and exuberant.

For today’s song I have selected the track “Tribulations” from their eponymous titled 2005 debut LP. This track opened the evening.

NANCY and JAMES

Here is a version live from St. Louis earlier in the tour. The vocals are better than what I captured and the outfits JAMES and keyboardist NANCY are wearing are similar.

I loved the pixel light screen which I urge you to explore.

Here it is:
