One of my objectives during the day MIKE /LISA took me into in Manchester on July 11, 2025 was to visit the legendary Piccadilly Records.

Mission accomplished!

I was also assisted by STEVE (former NEW ORDER roadie and now working with B.F.G.) to take in two other cool stores within a block or so of Piccadilly while the rest of the crew enjoyed a cold brew or two…

First up was the wonderfully named VINYL RESTING PLACE.

VINYL RESTING PLACE is a great store on the 3rd level of a building containing all sorts of interesting stores. We had to pass a statue of the infamous FRANK SIDEBOTTOM (created by comedian CHRIS SPIVEY) to get there and on departing, I had to stop for a photo,

There was an excellent selection of new and used vinyl. Steve had located an LPs by RED- SIDED GARTER SNAKES for me-

The band is comprised of some ex CHAMELEONS – namely the late JOHN LEVER (d. 2017), DAVE FIELDING and ANDY CLEGG.

FIELDING also has a connection to the band BLACK SWAN LANE 🇺🇸 and group member JACK SOBEL and, for a period, CHAMELIONS vocalist MARK BURGESS.

I love the words contained on the lyric sheet, especially where it says to “Play Loud!”

The store does not have any canvas record bags that I like to collect in stock.

The staff were great, however, customizing a plastic bag for the occasion and this series – “What’s In My Bag.”

I love the song, the video and the title of the song I selected. Here is “Pistols At Dawn.”
