LUCKY 7/ 11

Today would have been my mother’s 95th birthday (July 11, 1930). Sadly she passed away 10 years ago last week.

I mention this as a segue to today’s post.

One of the many cool things about Group Member Jacqueline is that she shares the same birthday as my mom! This gives my sister Margaret and I another reason to celebrate this important day!

I invited Jacqueline to guest spin on her birthday. She selected a killer song.

She also told me she was going to Italy with friends for vacation so I gave her the name of my favourite indie Italian 🇮🇹 outfit.

Turns out she and her pals have been playing this band poolside and like their music so music so much she changed her request! Here we go!

Their name is not Italian and the vocals are sung in English, but NEW CANDYS are from Venice, Italy 🇮🇹?

I featured them back on March 29, 2025 at song 1011 under the title “Post

– Punk From The Canal?” The song I selected was from their newly released LP “The Uncanny Extravaganza” entitled “Regicide.”

In keeping with the ethos of this project, not to repeat tracks, Jacqueline told me exuberantly via message from Italia that the song selected was, ready for it – “Crime Wave”! Figures.
