Huh?

I don’t think I have but a minute smattering of Italian bands in my collection. Most, if any of the music would be on compilations and, as I write, I can’t think of the name of one LP I own by an outfit from Italy.

That is about to change.

Through the magic of algorithms I have been introduced to an Italian band with a gargantuan post-punk/psych sound.

From their name and from first listening, I would have predicted they were from the midlands of the UK.

The song was so stupendous I started researching.

NEW CANDYS 🇮🇹 are from Venice! They have been recording since 2008. How I “missed” them is puzzling as they are on the FUZZ CLUB label from London- one of my favourite labels.

That is what the label says about them in the promo for the upcoming Fuzz Club Festival (May 9/10). [Ed. Note- Would that rex could be there..]

I have pre-ordered this LP and will be searching for their catalogue starting, um, now.

The song “Regicide” from their new LP entitled “The Uncanny Extravaganza” is out May 30 (Fuzz Club).

Here it is. Brace yourself. Your music life might be an about to change…
