1,000 songs…

It almost seems unreal that since colleague Brian wondered if I ever slept because he was receiving texts of songs from me at all hours I have now posted 1,000 songs.

What to select for this page turning selection marking postings of 2.25% of my collection?

I have thought about it for a while.

I could have done the numerology thing again today. However, 999 for 999 was perfect, if I do say so, and a another number song today seemed a bit lazy.

[Ed. Note- A tune by 1,000 VIOLINS, THOUSAND YARD STARE, or the epic “1,000 Reasons” by rex all- time faves THE SOUND ( all 3 🇬🇧) would have worked, but rex opted otherwise. And for completists in the group, be advised that TRENT REZNOR and MINISTRY side project 1,000 HOMO DJs 🇺🇸 would not qualify because they are not in the rex music collection.]

I could have picked an emotional favourite by one of my all-time champs- JOY DIVISION, WIRE or JESUS & MARY CHAIN (All 3 🇬🇧) but that seemed a bit obvious.

So in the end, I decided to go with a current obsession. [Ed. Note – Calling this an “obsession” is the one of the most colossal/ ginormous understatements rex has made over the 1,150 days we have been publishing.]

The song is a new release by an outfit that is returning from a long hiatus.

Their name is THE HORRORS 🇬🇧.

The title of this truly magnificent track is “More Than Life”.

More than life indeed.

It checks all the rex musical boxes-
