As I sit relaxing in the Spitalfields Market whilst my wife and daughter browse, I am still basking in the magnificence of a fantastic gig last night by one of favourite all- time indie artists- ARAB STRAP 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. They are introduced on this playlist. Their initial 10 year life as a band virually covers this same period.

This recent ARAB STRAP contact provides a perfect segue into the 3rd episode in New Caledonian Dreams (1996-2005).

During this period, there were releases by many of my favourite Scottish indie artists

But, as you will hear when you listen to the playlist, there are many that have paved a way into my musical web.

In particular, three of these artists (the last 3 on the accompanying setlist) have remained among my all- time faves.

The triumvirate of MOGWAI, BELLE & SEBASTIAN and ARAB STRAP are in my personal forever Hall of Fame.

Only two Scottish bands could have bad feelings and recriminations over the use of a sexual device in a song and band name…

As well, ARAB STRAP now record on MOGWAI’S label- ROCK ACTION.
