Not only was I rewarded with some great releases by being 8th in line at Dr. Disc last Saturday for Record Store Day, my music passion was sustained through mid afternoon.

Group member ZIO and I attended a showing of this amazing new docu- series at The Capital Theatre poignantly titled “Spinning Stories.”

The series is comprised of 8 short features 10-12 minutes in length.

Wïndsor based SYX LANGEMANN has created an excellent narrative about record collecting in the Wïndsor- Essex area.

Each vignette features a local record store and local band interwoven with the quest for a certain record SYX is searching to acquire.

SYX introduced the program and we saw the first 4 episodes. There was a short intermission and then the final 4 shorts and a brief but informative Q & A.

Wonderful stuff.

It is currently only available for those with Bell internet but I expect there will be wider accessibility in the near future. Look for it.

You do not have to be a record collector to enjoy this work. It stands on its own perfectly. I hope you get to share the experience.

TALKING VIOLET are an impressive shoegaze band.

I saw them last year at METEOR and snapped up their self- titled LP.
