As a prolific producer, DAVE FRIDMANN continued to work with former band mates in MERCURY REV.

Their 1998 LP “Deserter’s Songs” is, in my humble opinion, an indie masterpiece. I will let you decide, however.

I could have selected any track from this LP- it is that good. However, here is the opening track “Holes”. A perfect opening track for the majestic music that follows. Listen to it a few times and tell me in a week if the melody isn’t still percolating in your synapses…

Seeing the band perform on the tour for this LP back in the day is still a remarkable memory.
