I HAVE PEOPLE IN HACKNEY

[Ed. Note- rex is a little wordy here but bear with him.]

First there was Group member Phil who worked at ROUGH TRADE EAST in SHOREDITCH. We got to be great friends as he curated music at the store for me.

A few years ago, PHIL and NOREEN left ROUGH TRADE and opened a nifty vinyl store at the MARE STREET MARKET in Hackney called STRANGER THAN PARADISE RECORDS.

On a visit there in May I met staff member and now Group member SONNY BARRETT.

Fast forward to September and I am meet KEVIN HENDRICK after the SLOWDIVE show in Toronto. KEVIN worked as the guitar tech on the tour. My pal STU worked the sound board on that tour.

Turns out Kevin was once in the band SEAFOOD and owns a vinyl store called TOME RECORDS. The store is located in, you guessed it, Hackney.

I bring up STRANGER THAN and KEVIN tells me he is in a band with, you guessed it, SONNY.

On visiting STRANGER again in December, I am able to acquire the ace new LP by, you guessed it, their band, ADULKT LIFE. It is entitled “There Is No Desire.”

So all of that wordiness and coincidence gets us to the first song ever posted on gwilliamrexunderground365 recorded by a band comprised of 2 members of our little Group who work at 2 different record stores in Hackney.
