Today we feature a book. JOEL GION has been a member and tambourine player with my long- time faves BRIAN JONESTOWN MASSACRE.

First, this might be the best title of a music book ever- “In The Jingle Jangle Jungle”! How perfect is that? It is even more on point if one knows about the insane history of BJM and their legendary frontman ANTON NEWCOMBE.

From the documentary movie “Dig” a chronicle of the long time fued with THE DANDY WARHOLS, to the recent mid tour cancellation of a tour in Australia when an onstage fight broke out between NEWCOMBE and RYAN VAN KRIEDT (see below) there is a treasure trove of material for GION.

While I anxiously await the book and hope I can catch the book tour somewhere this year, I can tell you that JOEL has released two solid solo LPs.

“Apple Bonkers” was released in 2014 and “Joel Gion” saw the light in 2017.
