23 Magical Music Moments (#12)

Cassettes? You kidding me?

Who in the world still collects cassettes? Answer- rex.

While it is not my preferred mose, there are times when the cassette is either a must have (ie. an individually hand painted cassette by JASAMINE WHITE- GLUZ of NO JOY) or a cassette- only release.)

Against that backdrop I acquired a handful of sweet cassettes this year.

I was in ROUGH TRADE (BRISTOL) on November 27 buying music and awaiting the arrival of KATHRYN SMITH of SECRET SHINE when staff person JOSHUA started playing music in store that captured my immediate attention and interest.

The music was classic post-rock. Early reference point was MOGWAI with a more ethereal feel in parts.

I asked him who he was playing and he pointed to a cassette.

NEKO “King Louie”
)Hand Drawn Music- 2923)

I immediately purchased the release.

On returning home, here is what I had acquired…

Cassette #4/50

It is a limited edition EP with only 50 made.

The music is choice. The band is from Bristol and this was just released on Nov 10.
