As the end of 2023 draws near, I thought I would go through 23 of my favourite musical moments this year. Unless specified, this is not a ranking.

#23 – Favourite new artist. Earlier this year I learned of DEARY. I started listening and was impressed.

Then in a may I happened to be in London on the same day as the Independent Record Label Day.

As brilliant and exciting it was to spend hours visiting booths of some of my favourite labels such as Fuzz Club. Bella Union, and Cherry Red, the show stopper was SONIC CATHEDRAL RECORDS.

Aside from being one of my favourite indie labels generally, owner NATHANIAL CRAMP arranged for some of the label signings to be in attendance. One of those outfits was DEARY!

Not only did I get to meet and DOTTIE and BEN but they performed a live acoustic set. It was excellent.

So here is my favourite song (tough choice though) from their new self- titled 6 track EP.
