I fully planned to carry on today with tunes related to the artists I will be seeing live tomorrow,!but a Gargantuan slab of a song has interfered with that profoundly.

Yesterday I heard a brilliant song that is a mashup performed by two of my favourite artists.

IDLES from Bristol 🇬🇧 are one of the hardest working and fierce post- punk outfits having a go at it today. I have been on board since the get- go and, not unsurprisingly, have their full LP discography.

LCD SOUNDSYSTEM are the quintessential New York 🇺🇸 band. JAMES MURPHY is the prime mover of one of the most highly successful electronic/ dance outfits on the planet. He is also a co-founder of the DFA record label.

gwilliamrexunderground365 has featured both bands in the past. Today, you get them together!

While on tour together last year, IDLES frontman JOE TALBOT asked MURPHY and keyboardist NANCY WHANG to contribute vocals to a song. It was recorded at the LCD STUDIO and will be on the next IDLES LP “Tangk” to be released in February.

The result is ‘Dancer.’ I heard it yesterday and can’t stop hitting “repeat.” I hope you agree. It is that good.

It may be my favourite vocal incantation to dance since ‘Transmission’ by JOY DIVISION.
