Greetings on the slightly chilly Sunday after a week of elevated temperatures and tunes.
As you might imagine, between social media, magazines and word of mouth/ messages from friends much music comes to my attention on a daily basis.
In assessing these releases I have to be very discriminating or I will be buried in sounds with little to show.
An artist/ song came into my gaze this week. At first glance it was something I would have dismissed out of hand for a variety of reasons. But just before I moved on, a name caught my eye that caused me to pause and listen to the song.
The artist is KEELEY. The name meant zilch to me. I almost scrolled on without listening and then I saw this ‘Echo Everywhere – Tim Brown Remix
KEELEYBoo Radleys/ Tim Brown Remix’
What?
TIM BROWN is the bassist from British stalwarts – THE BOO RADLEYS. Jeepers!
After the release of their incredible 1993 LP “Giant Steps” they were my favourite “active’ band for a year of two.
That pedigree caused me to pause and hit play. I am glad I did and hope you agree.
KEELEY is a Dublin based dreampop artist. Debut LP “Floating Above Everything Else” is out now.

‘Echo Everywhere- Tim Brown Remix’ is a remarkable dream pop shoegaze gem.
Here it is with a bit of an odd and languorous video taken off the back deck of a car ferry at sea.
