Life is a Marathon…

This post/ song is dedicated to Group member Kathy. In addition to being a dedicated colleague and friend, she is a committed marathon runner. Unfortunately, this week she suffered a serious injury while running. Awful.

As I started thinking about a song for her, my mind turned to indie performers with a connection to marathon running.

I immediately thought of guitar genius JOHNNY He once ran the New York Marathon in a time of 3h54m.

Formerly in the legendary indie band THE SMITHS from Manchester 🇬🇧 in the 1980s, MARR has crafted a successful career.

Some of that has been as a session musician for artists like TALKING HEADS and He also been a member of a number of notable artists such THE THE, MODEST MOUSE, PRETENDERS and ELECTRONIC, to name just a few.

Although not as prolific as SMITHS vocalist MORRISSEY, MARR has crafted a body of solo work that has been somewhat under-appreciated.

In didn’t take me long for me to find an appropriate song for Kathy. Ironically, MARR released his latest single just two days ago!
