Today marks the re-release of what looked for many years (19 to be exact) to be the final LP from Scottish 🏴 post- punk legends THE JESUS & MARY CHAIN.
Originally released in 1998, their 6th studio LP was titled “Munki.”

It was released as the brothers Reid, Jim and William. were no longer on speaking terms after 14+ years of supposedly living the rock’n’roll dream.
The critics reaction to the LP was mixed. I rated it highly- partly because of my integral love of this outfit, but essentially because it is an incredible slab of music. Songs like ‘Stardust Remedy’, ‘Moe Tucker’ shine and ‘Cracking Up’ has an intoxicating bassline.

The LP itself had an interesting song arrangement that took on more meaning in the many years before the 2017 release LP 7- “Damage And Joy.”
It started with the single ‘I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll. Here it is for your listening and viewing pleasure. Tomorrow we will bring you Part II – to complete the bookend.
