LPS

  1. For The First Time (2021)
  2. Ants From Up There (2022)
  3. Live From Bush Hall (2023)

I selected this 6-piece for the 4th of 15 in the rex Festive 15 series because they are from the Cambridge area where are presently attending a conference.

Some of you long term Group members might recall than in May 2022 when Kimberly visited Cambridge for the day I selected a SLOWDIVE cover version of a song Cambridge’s most famous export, PINK FLOYD, (‘Golden Hair’) as I couldn’t find many “local” artists in my collection.

I have since learned of the origins of this band to the region and haven become a major admirer.

I featured their song ‘Basketball Diaries’ from “Ants” back at song 354 as I wrapped up my favourite LPs of 2022.

BCNR have cranked out two studios LPs and a live LP in less than 3 years. The live Lp is unusual in that their lead singer quit after the 2nd LP QBs they just replaced him and moved on. They then released the live LP that consisted of only new material. Very odd. Very special.

I can’t get enough of this outfit. Amazing instrumentation and unusual song structures abound.

Here is 1st track ‘Up Song’ from the Live LP. The actual LP recording is on the SPOTIFY link.
